A Great Man
Today the girls and I attended the funeral for Jay Sheldon Fitzgerald. We were privileged to know him because he and his wonderful wife Lacy became residents at The Charleston about 4 months after we opened. Though he was only in our life for a few short years, he and his family are engraved upon our hearts forever! This man was always a hard worker in all that he did and was very successful for that very reason. He served in WWII and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was instrumental in choosing the site for the Nuuremburg trials, though you won't see his name written in history. His wife, Lacy, is a true angel. In fact, I am sure that on the day that she passes from this life she will personally be escorted to those pearly gates where they will instantly recognize her and welcome her home with a concourse of angels trumpeting her return. It was a beautiful funeral service with the children and grandchildren honoring Jay and I am glad that my girls and I were fortunate to attend. This is just another blessing from being associated with The Charleston. We are so grateful for the Lord's Hand in our lives and for those he puts in our paths.
