Cheyenne is all things cowboy! The girls, of course, had to have cowgirl hats to celebrate their inauguration into the rodeo scene. No one would be caught dead here without their HUGE belt buckles, ropers, and the hat.

They have the whole park set up in the western theme. Of course, we had to spring the kids from jail.

I have a new found respect for my college roommate Jeni Hoyt Evensen. She was on the UVSC rodeo team as a barrel racer when we lived in Provo together. After watching bucking broncos, barrel racers, bare back riders, and bull riders, I am in awe at the danger these people put their lives in for a sport (that does pay pretty good if you win). I must admit this was my first rodeo ever and I was not disappointed.

Look at this guy! He hung on for his 8 seconds and boy what a ride! My back hurts just thinking about him! This was a great way to spend an afternoon and the kids liked it too. We leave here tomorrow after we watch the USAF Thunderbirds and then we're off to Rapid City, South Dakota to visit Mt. Rushmore.
