Eating Healthy

Okay, I am not the best eater. However, I am trying to turn over a new leaf and try better alternatives. My friend, Annie, got me hooked on the Hungry Girl emails that send great low fat recipe alternatives to the high cal, high fat ones in restaurants. I must say for a while I just archived them, but now I have begun reading them just to see the difference.

Today, I tried her recommendation of the Boca burger. I was babysitting 2 extra kids today, so I got the kids McDonald's and didn't get myself anything b/c I remembered I had bought these at the grocery store. So, I came home and tried it. It was actually pretty good. I put a tomato and some pickles on it without the bun and seriously couldn't tell the difference. So if you want a low-fat burger alternative, try the Boca burger. They also do chicken, but I haven't tried it yet.

Thinking back over the years before the 4 kids and after, my best weight loss plan or rather healthy eating plan was a low fat one. In fact, as I remember now, I was my high school weight after Blake just from eating low fat and drinking lots of water. I would take him for a walk around the block every day in his stroller, b/c we didn't have the money then for a gym membership so this had to do. That was the exercise regimen. So after all I've done over the years, I'm going back to that. I wasn't starving myself, but I played a game to see how many low-fat alternatives I could come up with and eat pretty much like everyone else. I'll let you know how that works out!

I will have to try those. Really, they are good? I have always been a little leary of those fake burgers. Another good thing to try are the soy patties from costco. They taste like little sausage patties but they are made from soy with 10 grams of protein, my kids love them.

I've had these and they are good. I know I've tried the chicken nuggets for Avery and he seemed to like them. I can't remember if they were Bocca or not.
