Happy Birthday Doug!

In our youth, we mistakenly thought 4o was old. Now, as we arrive at the blessed event, we realize that it isn't old. This is the time in our life where we finally feel comfortable with who we are and have sort of become who we want to be when we grow up. They say 40 is the new 30. Well, maybe that is true. Physically, we do get sore a lot quicker than we use too and things tend to start going south.

We've been married 16 years next month. Doug & I met when he was fresh off his mission at the age of 21 and I was 19. At times, that seems like yesterday. We've been through a lot in those 16 years. We've moved across country several times, had many different jobs/careers, and now have sold our business and are looking for the "next big thing."

Throughout this all, we've learned patience, compromise and in deed I say love a little deeper. Sometimes it was down right hard, especially when money way tight and we had very little kids. I'm not very charitable when I'm sleep deprived and I require a lot more sleep than him, so guess who was grumpy. He's grumpy when doing taxes and bills, so I guess we were both grumpy a lot early on.

However, through it all, I couldn't have asked for a better guy to be my partner. He did as many diapers as I did. He never put off any of his duties as a father. He was also the love of my life.

So, today.....we wish Doug a Happy Birthday! We sure love him!
