He said/She said

I now know how I drove my mom/dad crazy when I fought with my sister when I was younger. In case many of you wondered, I have given up on the fantasy that we are going to have perfect children. It just isn't going to happen. At any point, the he said/she said stuff is going to bubble over and I may eventually go insane. Nonetheless, we keep plugging along and hopefully one day they will all get along without our constant supervision.

As we were listening to talk radio on the way back from Idaho yesterday, I got that same feeling as I do with my kids arguing as I did listening to all this political hoopla. He said this, she did that and on and on and on. Now, I am not saying that I am putting my head in the sand and let the chips fall where they may (if I did that with my kids, then the whole house would be in shambles). Thus it is with our country. So, for now, I am going to put all this political figures to the test. I am actually going to research their voting records and see who indeed is liberal or conservative. Who is for the government taking my money and who is for giving it back to me (I'm the one who worked for it). I looking for the person who is really looking out for my family. Shouldn't we all be?

I admit sometimes Obama, Hilary and McCain can all sound like they want to help us....but do they really? I listened to one caller yesterday who said he was voting for Obama just b/c he was so charistmatic and he thought he would change things, but he couldn't tell the host one idea or issue that Obama stood for. Do people really vote by how people perceive how they look and talk without looking for substance? Are we really that superficial as a nation? I surely hope not.

Anyway, I encourage all of us to do a little research. Look at what is important to you and your family and see who has helped you when the vote really counted. I assure you, we will!
