The Agony of Defeat

The Ellis Children have not had a good week in sports. Blake had a lousy golf game on Tuesday in Spanish Fork. Monday night he shot a 47 on 9 holes in Cedar Hills, but on Tuesday he was 119 on a course he has never played. Doug thinks that is part of his problem. He gets nervous on new courses. I don't know. I dated a golfer in high school and I remember his moods went with the golf game. Doug told Blake that golf is also a mind game and not to psych himself out. If you have any advice or maybe some time to give a few good golf lessons to Blake, please let me know!

Sam, on the other hand, lost the last 2 games in soccer. Sometimes we wonder where her head is too, but we give that responsibility to the coach for training her his way. She doesn't have the killer instinct, or should I say we don't see that instinct very often on the playing field. At home is an entirely different story in relation to her siblings. But the weather was great last night for a nice, fall soccer game.

Ashlyn is excited to start ballroom on Monday. Seems like a pretty cool program to me. I'm trying to talk Doug into taking ballroom dance classes with me. NO, you can not have his "man card." I like him just fine the way he is! Ha! Ha!

How exciting Ashlyn is going to be taking ballroom lessons. I did that when I was younger and still remember the waultz and foxtrot! I bet they don't offer shag lessons in Utah though; you will have to bring her back to the lowcountry for that one! Amy
