Everyone told us how beautiful Seattle was and they weren't kidding. We took a guided tour today and pretty much viewed the entire city with little tidbits of history and trivia thrown in for fun. This city is gorgeous, not because it is green, but because of all the water that runs through it to give it variety.

We toured Pioneer Park. This the memorial for the all the Firemen in the Seattle area, especially for the ones lost in a warehouse fire in 2001.

This man-made waterfall marks the birthplace of UPS. Other companies, we learned, that began in Seattle: Costco, Microsoft, Starbucks, Amgen, & Theos Chocolate.

Of course, the tour wasn't complete without the Space Needle. We considered going to dinner at the top, but at $40 per head....hhhmmm maybe we'll pass. We also learned that Seattle Grace is not a real hospital for you Grey's Anatomy fans. The hospital featured on TV is actually an office building here.

One of our favorite stops on the tour was the Chittendam locks. We got to see the Salmon ladders too. It was fascinating to see the Panama Canal type locks and the boats passing through. So if you are ever looking for a great getaway, we would definitely recommend Seattle.
