Weekly Sports Update

Ashlyn began her track career this month. She ran the 100 m, 200 m and the relay. Her team came in first in the relay. In the other events, Ashlyn says "I wasn't first, but I wasn't last either so that is pretty good!" Since she comes from such a strong background of runners (NOT), we think track is great exercise and a good building block for whatever sport she chooses.
Sam's soccer team today lost 3-2. Despite the score, they did a really a good job. They had lots of injuries today including a broken wrist, sprained ankles and a broken toe. By half time, they only had 8 kids playing and the other team was playing 11 girls. The opposing coach was die hard and didn't have a lot of mercy, but he finally did take one girl out so he played the rest of the game with 10 girls. Lucky for him, he met us on a down day. He needed all 10 to pull out a goal in the last few minutes of the game. Sam has got a good foot on her when she connects with the ball.

Doug (my Doug) will be so proud knowing that you have a runner in the family.

I heard that game on Saturday was pretty amazing! Raegan is so excited to start playing this week, it sounds like they need another player since so many are out.
