Naughty Words

My niece Toni would like me to relate this story that Sydney told us the other day.

We were riding in the car and Sydney is in her car seat babbling away about something that happened at school. She then says to me, "Mom, this boy at school called me a bad word. It was the B word." To my horror, I thought, oh no here it comes. She then continues on, "You know the one with the ch." I thought, how on earth could a 5 year old start saying those kinds of words. Stunned into silence, although a 5 year old doesn't require a lot of feedback when they are in storytelling mode, I think I said, "hmm." She then said, "Yeah, can you believe he called me CHICKEN BUTT!" Much to my relief, we all burst into laughter!

Don't you love the comic relief of a 5 year old!

I love these stories!!! Little kids tell them so well. It is such a sweet time!!

I do hate when they come home and it is the actual swear word they are talking about. Cole came home in tears one day because someone showed him a word and challenged him to read it. It was the big F and he had never heard it so he didn't know it was bad until someone told him he just said a VERY bad word. He kept saying, "I didn't know mom, I didn't know!"
