Hope of America

The girls were in the Hope of America Children's Showcase at the Marriott Center last night in Provo. Kathy, Kevin & Avery are here from Arizona and they came, along with Grandma & Grandpa Ellis. The chorus all wore t-shirts and sat in the design of the American Flag. Samantha was in the fringe of the flag while Ashlyn was one of the white stripes. The whole program was done very well and a few times we even teared up as they sang these songs that were very patriotic. I am including the theme song.

HOPE OF AMERICA

Words and Music- Merrill Osmond, Alan Osmond Cliff Maag, Sam Cardon

We're the hope of America...where there's hope there's America.
She's a land that we love...blessed from God up above.
Please protect our rights and liberty.
We're the hope of America...stand and shout for America.
Where the brave, where the strong...where the dreams belong
The hope of America.

Chorus
Keep the spirit alive with a heart united
Working with each other everyday.
Be courageous and strong with a voice that's singing
Hail to the USA!

We will fight for our honor, defend our freedom
Just like our fathers had to pay.
We'll live for you, we'll die for you today!
We're the hope of America...where there's hope there's America.
Reaching out far and near...oh, the message is clear
We're the hope of America.

Chorus
We will fight for our honor, defend our freedom
Just like our fathers had to pay.
United we stand...divided we fall.
This is our country...she needs us all.
We're the hope of America...where there's hope there's America
She's a land that we love blessed from God up above
Please protect our rights and liberty.

We're the hope of America...stand and shout for America.
Where the brave, where the strong...where the dreams belong
The hope of America
America, America, America, my own!

Why is it that some in our country forget what this song so eloquently reminds us? As we sat in the Marriott Center last night, I was so grateful to be an American, so grateful to live in a country to worship the way I choose, and so grateful to live in Utah where these children were last night!
